The Amazing cold drink of Ayurveda
‘Sattu’
There are two common varieties
Jau or Channa Satu
Jau is made from roasted Jawar seeds or Sorghum or ‘new quinoa’ as labeled by the west
It is gluten free millet rich in fibre and micro nutrients

Channa sattu is made from roasted chickpea flour which is rich source of vegan protein & folates

So both are examples of wholesome goodness, after all Ayurveda is the mother of the modern diet fads
Method& benefits –
1. Roasted jawar or jau powder or Roasted chickpea flour is mixed with water and a bit of honey or jaggery to make this wonderful cold drink of water
2.it is nutrient dense and enriched because of roasted grains
3. Jau or jowar is first line of treatment for loosing weight or reducing ama(toxins) in the body , so jau ka sattu aids in loosing weight and reducing toxins
4. Great for people with acne prone skin as jau is cooling for the body and reduces inflammatory causing compounds
5. Both Channa satu & jau sattu are called Brain foods by the indigenous tribal population of India
6. Ayurveda guides us that they are great for reducing vata & ama
So great for people with joint pains, acne, skin disorders, kidney disorders, obesity & insulin resistance ailments

So take one glass per day by mixing 2-3 spoons of sattu powder with water daily for a nutri loaded Ayurvedic summer coolant
